Cookie Policy

Clear choices about the technology that supports your visit.

This policy explains how Connectix may use cookies and similar browser technologies when you visit our website or use online Connectix services.

A simple principle

Connectix should use browser technologies only where they have a clear purpose connected to operating, securing, remembering preferences or improving the service. Optional technologies should not be treated as necessary simply because they are common on the web.

01

What cookies are

Cookies are small pieces of data that a website can ask a browser to store on a device. They can help a website remember information between page views or visits.

Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, device identifiers and other browser based mechanisms that allow a website or application to remember settings, maintain a session or support security.

In this policy, the word “cookies” may be used as a convenient collective term for cookies and similar browser technologies unless the context requires a distinction.

02

How Connectix may use cookies

Depending on the Connectix service being used, cookies or similar technologies may be used to:

Protect the service

Support security controls, abuse prevention and the integrity of website or account sessions.

Keep a user signed in

Maintain an authenticated session where Connectix account services require login.

Remember preferences

Store settings or choices so they do not need to be selected repeatedly.

Support service flow

Preserve temporary information needed as a user moves through a multi step process.

Maintain functionality

Enable features that depend on temporary browser state.

Understand service use

Where enabled and appropriately disclosed, help Connectix understand how digital services are being used and where they can be improved.

03

Types of cookies Connectix may use

Strictly necessary

Used where a website or service cannot operate properly without them, for example security, authentication or temporary session handling.

Preference

Used to remember choices such as interface preferences, cookie choices or other settings that improve continuity between visits.

Analytics

May be used to understand how visitors interact with a website or application. These should be treated as optional where they are not required to provide the service.

Functional or third party

May support functionality delivered through an external service. If introduced, Connectix should clearly identify the relevant provider and purpose where appropriate.

04

Current public website position

The current public Connectix website code does not intentionally set advertising cookies or behavioural analytics cookies.

The site does load some front end resources from external content delivery networks. Those requests may involve technical information such as IP address, browser information and request metadata that is handled by the relevant external provider.

If Connectix later introduces analytics, advertising, additional third party services or a cookie preference centre, this policy and the website controls should be updated to reflect the technologies actually in use.

05

Connectix account services

Connectix account services may require strictly necessary session technologies to authenticate users, maintain secure sessions and deliver account features.

This can apply to Individual accounts used to buy WiFi tokens and view WiFi usage, Reseller accounts used to support token sales, and Agent accounts used by homeowners who host Connectix connection points and may sell tokens.

Where browser storage is necessary for an account service to function securely, disabling it may prevent parts of that service from working correctly.

06

Third party services

Some Connectix pages may use externally hosted scripts, fonts, icons, infrastructure or other technical services. When a browser connects to those providers, the provider may receive technical request information independently of Connectix.

If Connectix introduces a third party service that sets nonessential cookies or similar identifiers, Connectix should provide appropriate notice and controls before or when that technology is activated, where required.

Third party services may have their own privacy or cookie terms. Users should review those terms where a third party service is clearly identified.

07

Your cookie choices

Browser settings

Most browsers allow users to view, delete or block cookies and site data through browser privacy settings.

Optional technologies

Where Connectix introduces optional cookies, users should be given an appropriate way to accept or decline them where required.

Existing cookies

Changing a preference does not always remove data already stored in the browser. Existing site data can usually be removed through browser settings.

Necessary cookies

Blocking technologies required for authentication or security may cause parts of an account or service to stop functioning correctly.

08

How long cookies may remain

Some cookies last only for the current browser session and are removed when that session ends. Others may remain for a defined period so that a preference or other permitted setting can be remembered.

Where Connectix uses persistent cookies, their duration should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the stated purpose.

09

Changes to this policy

Connectix may update this Cookie Policy as the website, account platform, third party services or applicable requirements change. The current version should remain available on this page with its latest revision date.
